On Christmas Eve, as a family we watched a talk by Henry B. Erying on the birth of Christ given at a Christmas Devotional this year and we also watched the church video Joy to the world! It helped us get in the right spirit for christmas and I am so thankful to our savior and his sacrifices for us and what a blessing that is to me each and everyday. We had such a wonderful christmas, and I feel so blessed to have the wonderful family that I do, for great kids and my amazing husband!

Christmas morning at around 6 am, I started hearing excited voices coming for the living room. I told them the night before that we were staying in bed until 7, so we made them wait until then before Erin and I would get out of bed. They waited very impatiently for an hour! They had arranged all the gifts in piles for who they belonged to while they waited for us to get up. Then we took turns opening all the gifts. Santa Clause gave us a Wii for the family, we must have been really good this year:) The Wii kept them all busy the entire day! Mackay got a panda pillow pet, seal webkin, bubble gum machine, sweats and socks, r/c car from Grandma and Grandpa VanDyke. Also a nerf gun, sorry sliders board game, and a flash light from santa. Clayton got a batman car, paper jams guitar, "Uno tip it" the game, dog pillow pet, cow webkin, Nerf b-ball hoop, sweats and socks, Nero lego set and a flash light from santa. Brenden got a set of legos from Clayton and also a set of legos from Erin and I. He also got, a bubble bee pillow pet, poodle webkin, sweats and socks, Guess who board game, moon shoes and "hyper-slide" the game from Grandma and Grandpa VanDyke. Alaina got a unicorn pillow pet, horse webkin, a doll, sweats and socks, fur-real pet kitty, pet shops, "Cooties" the game and stuffed dog and coloring book from Grandma and Grandpa VanDyke! They all also got a big box of lego's from thier Grandma Bonnie! I think they were all very happy with everything they got. It was a great christmas!

10 reasons we love Brenden!

We love Brenden very much, so this is just a few of the reason he's such a great kid! We are so happy to have him as part of our family and he brings so much joy and happiness to our lives!

1. That smile! He's always smiling and happy.
2. That Laugh! His laugh is so contagious, and makes everyone laugh along with him.
3. His willingness to help others, he such a great all around kid!
4. He knows how to manage his time very well, he will probably never be late for anything his whole life.
5. His hugs and kisses, his shyness can hold him back sometimes, but he's always willing to share how much he loves us!
6. He loves his Dad! He wants to be just like him and is always watching everything his dad does and looks up to him and his example.
7. His sence of adventure, and how curious he is about the outdoors! He loves being outside and playing the dirt!
8. How organized he is, he keeps his room the cleanest in the whole house! We gave him one of the largest bedrooms in the house, because he keeps his room so clean...he deserves it!
9. His enthusiasm! Don't get me wrong...he's got a little temper on him, but he is very content and happy with his life! He can be a big goof ball and hyper too!
10. His concern for others and thier well being! He wants to make sure everyone is taken care of not just himself!

Making Gingerbread houses!

Don't they just look great?

Brenden did an amazing job!

He's a little perfectionist at everything he does.

Clayton did a great job!

He very intently made the roof,
he has 2 layers of M&M's on it!

He liked eating the frosting too:)

Mackay had alot fun, he's not one that likes to
get messy...But it turned out really nice anyways!

Alaina had so much fun, she made a marshmellow gingerbread
army around her house, it's so cute and she spent alot of time
with Daddy making it!

Clayton Playing Basketball!

Clayton loves this time of year, when he can play basketball with his friends.
They won this game! Now that they are little older, they are playing a little more aggressively and really want to win!

Clayton's Christmas Program!

Clayton had a christmas program at the middle school yesterday. They did a really good job, they sang christmas songs. They made home made instruments which they called the garbage band. Clayton made a xylophone type instrument with wood and metal pipe. They played a christmas song with the instruments they made.
